Overview
Casa Flor de Mayo blends modern architecture with a local charm in an ultimate seaside retreat. The villa indoor and outdoor areas have been designed around its fabulous setting overlooking the twenty-foot cliffs and turquoise waters of the Caribbean sea. The villa sits a short seaside walk to the Mayan ruins at the tip of Isla Mujeres, as well as one of the islands many attractions, Garrafon Park.
Unobstructed views from most rooms are simply breathtaking. High ceilings and large glass sliders in the ocean facing rooms allow guests to embrace the ocean breeze and sounds of waves crashing on the rocks. The large infinity-edge waterfall pool has both a shallow play and lounge area, and a large deep swimming area, surrounded by a large pool deck and lower and upper patios.
Layout / Design
The Casa has been designed to embrace the gentle slope from the road down towards the house, continuing towards the sea. It has two levels. The front of the property is relatively flat, and you are about a hundred feet from the edge, where there is about a twenty-foot drop to the water.
Because of the slope, you will enter from the driveway on the upper floor where there is a Sitting Area, and three Master Bedrooms, two facing the water, one facing the road. The sitting area, and two bedrooms open on the large upper deck.
Downstairs, there is a Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, Powder Room and Laundry Room, a Master Bedroom facing the water, and a Guest Bedroom facing the road. The Living Room, Dining Room and Master Bedroom all open on the lower patio, with a step down to the expansive pool deck.
Life at the Villa
The Casa is designed to allow you to blend indoor and outdoor as much as possible, and with the breeze coming in off the water and doors open in the Living Room and Dining Room, you get a very much open air affect. Especially as the sun starts to set, and cocktails are served the affect is peaceful and serene.
Not all about food? Relax by the pool and read a book – lots of sunshine all day, lots of shade from mid morning through the evening. Enjoy the thousands of square feet of oceanfront balconies, patios and poolside decking overlooking the large oceanfront infinity waterfall pool.
Need to take a break from the sun – enjoy the large comfortable living room, or head to the upstairs sitting room. Need a nap or a good night’s sleep – head to the privacy of one of the five bedrooms
Four Master bedrooms feature en-suite bathrooms with waterfall showers. Three of those are oceanfront masters featuring king size beds, (two upstairs / one downstairs) The other master is upstairs road side and has two twins that can also be set up as a king (side-by-side).
The other bedroom is a guest or kids room on the lower level road side with two twin beds. Guests will have access to the main floor powder room, and will share shower facilities with one of the master bedrooms.
All the king and twin beds have pillow-top mattresses, feature bamboo mattress covers, high end satiny finish bamboo sheets and a mix of bamboo and anti-allergy pillows.
