Casa Flor de Mayo was conceived in 2016 when long-time Isla resident Jenny Penny (known elsewhere as Jen) was able to convince her parents Diane and Bob Graham; Canadians who live in the Toronto, Ontario suburb of Mississauga, to take the plunge and buy a property on Isla.
A year of planning and design, followed by a little over a year of construction, and finally in summer 2018, the Casa was ready. The choice of a location was a beautiful oceanfront (technically seafront) lot on the eastern (Caribbean) side of South Point. We chose the location for the environment – the views, the feel, the breeze and sounds of the surf and the waves breaking on the rocks below the cliff. Can’t beat the setting, and we hope you will share the feeling.
By the way, while you are in Isla, if you are in Centro, be sure to visit Jenny Penny’s Beach Boutique located on Av. Hidalgo, next to Pizza Rock. Also for lots of great tips and info on Isla Mujeres in general, check out the guides section on the Isla Mujeres FB group.
